Privacy policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Staise ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit staise.co.uk (the "Site"), buy from us, sign up to our emails, or otherwise interact with us (together, the "Services").
Who we are
Staise is the controller of your personal information for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. If you have any questions about this policy or want to use any of your rights, email us at scrunchbystaise@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Contact details – your name, address, phone number and email address.
- Order information – billing and delivery address, items bought, payment confirmation.
- Account information – username, password and preferences if you create an account.
- Shopping information – items you view, add to your basket or start to check out.
- Customer support information – anything you include when you contact us.
- Usage data – device, browser, IP address and how you use the Site, collected using cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
- Information from partners – such as payment confirmation from our payment providers, and information about how you interact with our emails and adverts.
How we use your information and our lawful basis
- Processing and delivering your order, handling returns and sending order updates – to perform our contract with you.
- Customer support and improving our Services – our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.
- Security and fraud prevention – our legitimate interests and, where applicable, our legal obligations.
- Marketing emails and texts – your consent, or where you have bought from us, our legitimate interests in telling you about similar products (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email).
- Analytics and advertising cookies – your consent, given through the cookie banner on our Site.
- Showing you relevant adverts on social media (see below) – our legitimate interests in promoting our products, or your consent where the law requires it. You can object at any time.
- Meeting legal obligations, such as keeping tax records – legal obligation.
Advertising on Facebook and Instagram
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are run by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited ("Meta"). To do this we may:
- Use the Meta Pixel and Conversions API on our Site. If you accept marketing cookies, these tell Meta about actions you take on our Site (such as viewing a product, adding to basket or making a purchase) so we can measure our adverts and show them to people likely to be interested.
- Share customer and subscriber lists with Meta. We may share the email address or phone number of customers and email subscribers with Meta in a hashed (scrambled) form. Meta uses it to match you to a Facebook or Instagram account so that we can show you relevant adverts, or to make sure we don't show you certain adverts (for example, adverts for something you've already bought). Meta deletes the hashed information after the matching process. Some of these lists are created through our email provider, Klaviyo.
How to opt out: email us at hello@staise.co.uk and we will stop including your details in lists shared with Meta. You can also decline or withdraw marketing cookies using the cookie settings on our Site, and manage the adverts you see in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. Meta's own use of information is explained in Meta's Privacy Policy.
Who we share your information with
- Shopify – our e-commerce platform, which hosts our Site and processes orders.
- Payment providers (such as Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay) – to take payment.
- Delivery companies – to send you your order.
- Klaviyo – to send our emails and texts and manage our subscriber lists.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) – for advertising, as described above.
- Analytics and social media tools (such as Metricool) – to understand how our Site and social media perform.
- Professional advisers, authorities or a buyer of our business – where required by law or as part of a business sale.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the Site to work (for example, remembering your basket) and are always on. Others, including analytics and advertising cookies such as the Meta Pixel, are only used if you agree to them through the cookie banner shown when you first visit. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on our Site. For more about the cookies used to power our store, see Shopify's cookie policy.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, Klaviyo and Meta, may process your information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, standard contractual clauses or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep your information
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting purposes (usually six years). We keep marketing information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- object to us using your information based on our legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing, including advertising on social media;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To use any of these rights, email scrunchbystaise@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Our Services are not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about children. If you think a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
